Dr. Nikki Ford is the Senior Director of Nutrition at the Avocado Nutrition Center, the world’s only independent resource for comprehensive avocado nutrition research. Through the research and nutrition affairs programs, Dr. Ford is building the leading body of credible avocado nutrition health science. Ultimately to equip research scientists, health professionals, and public health policy leaders with facts and confidence about the health benefits of eating fresh Hass avocados.
Before joining the Avocado Nutrition Center, Dr. Ford was a research fellow at the University of Texas at Austin. She holds a B.S. in Animal Science from Pennsylvania State University and a Ph.D. in Nutritional Science with a certificate in Business Management from the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign. Her scientific career has focused on understanding the health benefits of eating fruits, vegetables, and other unprocessed foods. Dr. Ford’s favorite way to eat an avocado is diced into soup.
